I have always loved creating things with my hands. I have been influenced and inspired by my grandmother, who taught me to see and value the design inherent in nature and to bring that inspiration into my work.  My work is handcrafted in my home studio in East Durham, NC. I mix all of my glazes and slips and fire to cone 6 in my electric kiln. Lately I have been experimenting with creating a spiked surface texture with the use of repurposed tools found at the Scrap Exchange here in Durham.
